Promoting Dignity, Access and Sustainable Menstrual Health
Menstrual health is an essential part of wellbeing, yet many girls continue to face challenges related to access, awareness, safe disposal and social stigma. The Menstrual Hygiene Initiative works with schools and community institutions to promote informed, dignified and sustainable menstrual hygiene management. Through collaborations with Shro Systems, Maher Ashram and PadCare Labs Pvt. Ltd., the initiative combines awareness, access to menstrual products and responsible menstrual waste management. At Maher Ashram in Vadhu Budruk, Shirur Taluka, the initiative supported approximately 100 eligible female students and included the installation of a PadCare menstrual waste management system. The programme recognises that menstrual hygiene extends beyond access to products—it also includes accurate information, safe practices, dignity and environmentally responsible disposal. Through these efforts, the initiative aims to create supportive environments where girls can learn, participate and live with confidence and dignity.
